Recap of the new Skirlington Show

Great turnout, top mix of cars, and the Highway 63 convoy making its presence known as always

Highway 63 rolled into the Skirlington Show this past Saturday for its first run out to a new local show and honestly, we went in not knowing if we were walking into a hidden gem… or just a field, a burger van, and someone’s mate Dave judging it all 😅

Safe to say… it delivered.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just thrown together. The setup was smooth, plenty of space to get parked up (always a win), a nice easy layout and food and refreshments available. There was a steady flow of people through the day too, not bad at all for a first crack at it 👏

The variety of cars was bang on. This wasn’t a one-scene show, you had everything from classics of all eras to modern performance and prestige, with dedicated stands including Ferrari and Porsche bringing some serious metal. Proper mix across the board and fair play, it gave everyone something to look at.

That said… you already know where the crowds were gravitating 😏 American Iron.
The American and custom stuff was doing what it does best, drawing people in. Big presence, big noise, and plenty of double takes. Turns out, chrome, rumble, and a bit of attitude still wins people over… who knew?

One of the highlights (as always) was the cruise over. There’s just something about rolling in together as a convoy, clean cars, a bit of noise and the general public wondering what’s about to pull up next. A few “enthusiastic” throttle moments here and there… strictly for sound checks, of course 😅 It’s all part of what makes these days what they are.

Massive shoutout to all the Highway 63 members who came down and repped the club on the stand, you lot absolutely smashed it. The lineup looked strong all day, loads of interest around the cars and the usual top tier banter keeping things ticking over. Wouldn’t be an H63 day without someone disappearing for food and coming back with enough to feed a family of four either…

Big respect to the organisers for putting on such a solid debut event. If this is the starting point, it’s only going to get bigger and better—and we’ll definitely be back to see what’s next.

Same again next time… maybe with less “sound testing” on the way in? (No promises) 👊
