STARS & STRIPES 2026 – CONVOY RECAP
Well... what can we say? Another Highway 63 adventure completed, another cracking day in the books and plenty more memories made.

Sunday saw an early start for the H63 faithful as we gathered at our various meeting points before beginning the journey west towards Tatton Park for one of the biggest dates on the UK American car calendar Stars & Stripes. The event celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2026 and once again brought together thousands of American vehicles from every era, alongside traders, live entertainment and everything that makes the show such a favourite.
By the time everyone met up at Hartshead Moor with our good friends from The Leeds Cruise, the convoy had grown into an impressive line-up of American metal stretching as far as the eye could see. Watching dozens of V8s, classics, hot rods, muscle cars, trucks and customs rolling down the motorway together never gets old and if you happened to be passing, you certainly knew we were coming!
As we headed up across the Pennines into Lancashire, we're fairly sure a few people were beginning to question their life choices. Low cloud hung over the hills, the air was thick with moisture and it looked like someone had accidentally driven us straight into the set of Silent Hill. It wasn't exactly the glorious summer convoy we'd ordered!
Thankfully, Mother Nature eventually found the correct weather forecast.
Before long we were rolling through the gates of Tatton Park amongst hundreds of incredible American vehicles. Everywhere you looked there was something to admire, from beautifully restored classics and rare muscle cars to wild customs, trucks, hot rods and everything in between. It really is one of those shows where every walk around reveals something you've somehow missed the first time.
But as always, for us the cars are only half the story.
The best part of these days is seeing our members enjoying themselves. Friends catching up, families spending the day together, plenty of laughs, plenty of banter and more than enough tyre kicking to keep everyone entertained. Whether you've been with Highway 63 since the beginning or joined us last week, everyone is welcomed exactly the same, and that's something we're incredibly proud of.
It was also brilliant to see so many members joining the convoy. There's just something special about travelling to a show together rather than simply meeting there. Seeing that line of American iron thundering along the motorway is exactly what this hobby is all about.
Unfortunately, not every journey has the perfect ending.
On the way home, Paul's truck decided it had other ideas and called time on the day a little earlier than planned. It's never the way anyone wants to finish an event after such a brilliant day out, and we know how frustrating that is after all the effort that goes into keeping these old machines on the road. Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious and he's back behind the wheel where he belongs before too long.
To everyone who joined us, thank you once again for making the day what it was. Whether you travelled from Hull, Leeds or anywhere in between, your company, humour and enthusiasm are what make these convoy days so enjoyable.
A huge thank you also goes to The Leeds Cruise for once again teaming up for the run across to Tatton. Seeing both groups rolling in together made for a fantastic sight and hopefully it's something we'll continue for many years to come.
Finally, remember...
The cars get us there...
The roads give us the adventure...
But it's the people who make the memories.
Roll on the next one.
Miles & Smiles.
